Select 'Simple' on the host system and wait as the player names are added to the game list.
Select the host's name on all the guest system to be added to the game group. Once all the names are added, select 'Cut Off' on the host system.
Select a game on the host system to begin the multi-player game.

Select 'Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Settings' in the 'Nintendo WFC' section of the main menu.
Tap 'Connection 1' and search for an access point.
Select your wireless access point. Fill in any needed information including netword ID and password. Select 'OK,' 'Save Settings,' and 'Yes.' If the connection is successful, the game is connected to the Wi-Fi network and the settings have been saved. The game will connect with the Nintendo WFC.

Tips
If all players in a wireless LAN game have a copy of the 'Mario Kart DS' game card, then select 'Normal' on the host's system once all the DS systems are turned on. Select the host's name on the guest systems and select 'Cut Off' once the list is full.
Keep a maximum distance of 65 feet between all players and try to angle the systems so they face each other. Also remove obstructions between the players and wireless devices from the area, these may interfere with the local signal.

Game Description & Reviews:
OverviewMario Kart DS is the first game in the Mario Kart franchise to go online and the fifth overall in the series. As of April 2012, it has sold 22.57 million copies worldwide.
SushiBrawl rates this game: 5/5Not only is the great Mario Kart series being put to a handheld again, but it's the first in the series to go on wifi. This gives you the chance to verse random players or even your friends. Mario Kart DS comes packed with not only a big cast of racers but a huge cast of karts to choose from. Not only that, but the game also holds some of the best courses that I have ever seen. It would be wise to get this game.
Mystics Apprentice rates this game: 5/5This game was AMAZING! It kept the same features of Mario Kart 64 and only enhanced! The controls are a bit more difficult, but that probably has partly to do with having to use the control pad versus the control stick, but otherwise this game is great.
There's waaayyyy more courses than the previous Mario Kart's. They have 16 new tracks and then there's a retro series featuring racetracks from all of the older games as well! They kept the battle mode from Mario Kart 64, and added a new game called Shine Runners, as well as different challenges that you have to go through (collect coins within a time limit, make so many turns a certain way, etc.)
All-in-all, this game was great. And I'd highly recommend it to anyone that would like to try the best racing game ever made!

MARIO KART DS is another MARIO KART series, using more power-ups such as the blue shell, bob-ombs and many more! The quality of performance is good and more fun than other MARIO KART!
annihilator127 rates this game: 5/5Another Mario Kart game. You can use things such as bananas, turtle shells and even bombs to deteriorate your rivals' lap times, or you can try to knock them out in the battle mode. You can actually play battle against the computer now.
It's probably one of my favourite DS games.
Pontinho rates this game: 5/5Mission mode is an excellent addition to the series. The single player grand prix was getting a little stale just on it's own. The ai is quite excellent - it's not the horrible elasticband stuff from mk 64. I have 1 minor gripe about the entire game. When off the track, the sand/mud/grass slows you down way too much. It kind of takes away from the authenticism of the retro tracks since none of the other games had it. Offroading is too punishing, but doesn't prevent mk ds from being an outstanding game.
